Fire Away

My dad took me firing at Commander Shooting Range, a firing range in Cubao. It was the first time I ever held a gun, the first time I ever shot a gun. It was amazing.
My dad was asking me if I was nervous and surprisingly, I didn't feel nervous at all. I was excited. I got a hang of it after a few shots, it wasn't that difficult. Maybe I should thank video games for my aiming abilities. Kuya Jin, the firing instructor, was really good. He gave me very clear instructions and somehow he challenged me through out the activity. He said the usual target distance a beginner is given is about 5-6 meters but because I was able to hit the target nicely during my first few tries, he moved the target farther (9meters) and we were both shocked that I was still able to hit the black dot and the black triangle. After 30 rounds, my arm started to ache.
Because I was proud, I took my target board home and displayed it on my window sill.

My papa says he'd take me with him again soon, I can't wait. Somehow this activity made me want to try out archery more. When you guys aren't busy and are up for something new, why not try firing. It can be more exciting than you think. Visit Commander Shooting Range at Facebook for more details about the area and the activity.
